The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Valencia CF completed the loan signing of Cenk Özkacar until June 30th, 2023, in the club's latest summer acquisition. The Turkish player spoke to VCF Media upon his arrival, to give the story behind the move and his thoughts on the club and the city.
Joining the club
I'm very happy to be here, and really excited to be here at this amazing club. My initial opinion is that my adaptation here is going to be easy. It feels really good to be here. Everybody knows that Valencia CF fans are by far the best in the world. I can't wait to meet them. They are really influential on the team. I can't wait to meet them and I'm so happy to play in front of them. That's why I'm so excited to be here.
Ambition for a long stay
I've come here on a year-long loan, but I want to stay here for more than one year. Everybody should be certain that I am going to give everything for this club. I will show what I can do in every training session, and every game, giving 100% for this club. I came here to give everything for this amazing club.
His playing style
My playing style is really aggressive defensively. I'm very strong and with the ball I like to play good football with my team. I'm from Turkey, so I'm going to be aggressive on the pitch.
The story of his signing
One day I was in Lyon and my agent called me. He told me that there was the opportunity to go to Valencia. When I learned about the possibility I was very excited. I was really excited when I found out the news. The possibility came true.
Valencia city
The city is perfect and the club is amazing, with a huge amount of history. The fans are great as well. I have to say, I also came to Valencia CF because of Gattuso, to feel his passion. That was really important, and I'm very motivated to work with him. I think that I'm really ready for this challenge.
Family history
My brother was here when he was younger. He was here for two years with Erasmus. I didn't have a chance to come to Valencia then, and I was annoyed that he was at a good city whilst I was still at home.
Now I'm here and my brother is at home. I know about the city, and he's told me that it's the most beautiful city in the world. I have been here two days and it's true what people say. I really wanted to come to Valencia: I'm here for football, but for my social life it's also going to be really good.
